Note:

Nothing in my statements to you should be construed as a promise or guaranty about the outcome of your matter.  I make no such promises or guarantees, and any comments about the outcome of the matter are expressions of opinion only.

I can help most callers. However, I cannot guarantee your problem can be resolved or your questions answered. I reserve the right to discontinue assistance should I feel we have reached an impasse.

Review the articles I have written and attached. You may find the answers to your questions there. If you need further information, please e-mail or call. Should you call, your first 12 minutes of your first call will be free. After that, if it looks to me like I can help you, my standard rates apply. I will charge the following rates:

Hourly telephone assistance rates:

For the consulting services rendered by my firm, my charges will be $145 per hour.

My rates are adjusted from time to time and may change during the course of our engagement.  I also charge you for costs including manuals, research time and research materials, photocopying, and postage.  When traveling in the course of my representation of you, if I drive my vehicle I will charge you for mileage that is in excess of thirty miles per round trip, at the prevailing Internal Revenue Service rate in addition to travel time.

I will send you a statement each month which will be itemized as to the amount of time I or my staff spends on the subject, the subject matter, the staff member who performs the work, and the total time involved in the matter that month.  The staff member’s time will be based on 1/10 of an hour or 6 minutes minimum. That amounts to $14.50 per 1/10 hour unit. One unit will be my minimum billing.

I ask and expect payment of my billings via credit card. I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.  My billing statements will be charged to your card as generated. Therefore I require a valid approved credit card on file for ongoing work.

If I am not timely paid, I reserve the right to stop work on your matter until I have been paid.  I also have the right to withdraw as your consultants if I am not paid, or for any other reason.  You have the right to terminate my employment at any time for any reason.  If there is any outstanding balance due on my fees at the time of termination, that balance must be paid at that time.

Annual subscription rates:

You may enter into an annual subscription agreement with me for a monthly fee of $36.25 charged to your credit card.

For the consulting services rendered by my firm in excess of 4 hours per year, my charges will be $125 per hour.

Other arrangements:

I am available to make personal visits to your location. Situations often exist that require close evaluation of equipment and its installation or onsite consultation. I can also conduct training for your staff and attend meetings with engineers, contractors, surveyors, and inspectors in order to resolve problems. Pricing for these services will be negotiated.

Paperwork:

It is often appropriate for me to send paperwork, i.e. drawings, photos, written explanation of codes, procedures, copies of correspondence, etc.

If you can receive e-mail, I can do this at no charge up to 10 pages photos excluded.

If you prefer fax, I will charge $2/page.

I can only send you documents that may be legally copied, like my own documents or written responses to inquiries. I cannot send you pages from copyrighted standards, such as NFPA 110 or proprietary manufacturer’s documents.  However, I can show you where you can purchase your own copies of these in most cases.

I do have manuals and drawings from discontinued products and manufacturers who have gone out of business. Many of these are no longer protected and I can make them available.

Be Careful!

Generators and automatic transfer switches as well as their appurtenant devices employ high voltages that can hurt you. Do not attempt to work with this equipment unless you are qualified. Observe all rules and cautions found in the manufacturer’s manuals as well as NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.

The assistance I provide is based on the questions you ask and the accuracy of the information you provide about your equipment or project. I cannot guarantee you will like or agree with my response.
